Event Highlights

All Sports Alberta Foundation organized the first ever 6 nations cricket tournament on October 14, 2024 at Genesis Centre in the city of Calgary. In this tournament, six teams representing Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Canada, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka participated with their best available cricket players in the city.

The tournament started with all the teams walking onto the field, accompanied by children holding their flags and dressed in traditional attire. This scene was eye-catching and appealing. The Mayor of Calgary, Jyoti Gondek, graced the event as the chief guest, with the Canadian national anthem marking the beginning of the ceremony.

Match Results

The kick-off match was played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, which was won by the Afghanistan team. The second match was the highlight of the tournament, as India and Pakistan played to a thrilling tie. As the tournament progressed, the semi-finals saw Pakistan defeating the Canadian team and India defeating Afghanistan.

The final match, a nail-biter between India and Pakistan, ended with India winning by hitting a sixer in the last over.
